West Nile Virus Detected in Salt Lake County

West Nile

Salt Lake County Health Department has confirmed the presence of West Nile Virus (WNV) in multiple mosquito pools. These pools are located in western Salt Lake City, Magna, western West Valley City, and along the Draper/Riverton border. Residents are urged to take precautions to prevent mosquito bites, especially from dusk to dawn. Use EPA-registered repellents, wear long sleeves and pants, and eliminate standing water around your home. WNV can cause severe illness, particularly in people over 50 and those with weakened immune systems. For more information, visit the Health Department's website.
